A generative visualization inspired by Sol Lewitt renders 100 rotated rectangles, each stacked diagonally from the top-left toward the center. The code creates SVG `rect` elements via the raw DOM API, applying a uniform 45-degree rotation around the viewport midpoint. Rectangle heights scale with their index, while fill colors cycle through hues using the `hsl()` function. The piece runs in a browser, using no external visualization libraries, and is annotated with the "Jersey 10" font, which appears unused in the final output.

Fork 2025 Lawn Viz -V

This example renders a generative, pseudo-plotted visual inspired by Sol LeWitt, using a series of horizontal and vertical rectangles. The SVG drawing is filtered through two circular masks, creating a central circular window where the grid lines intersect with inverted visibility. The code builds the SVG programmatically via `document.createElementNS`, appending 100 horizontal and vertical rects, with the masks controlling which lines appear in the foreground. A large “Fork 2025” text label is styled with the Jersey 10 font, completing the minimalist, plotter-like aesthetic.

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired drawing by generating a series of vertical SVG rectangles across the width of the viewport. One hundred thin black bars are evenly spaced, creating a dense, rhythmic pattern that fills the full screen height. The code builds the visualization dynamically using raw DOM manipulation methods like `document.createElementNS` and `svg.appendChild`, rather than a visualization library. The SVG canvas is sized to match `window.innerWidth` and `window.innerHeight`, and the page uses the Google Fonts “Jersey 10” typeface for text elements.

Fork of Landcape

A fork of Sol LeWitt's generative line drawings, this visualization renders 100 rotated lines from a single origin point. Each line uses the SVG `rect` element with a random hexadecimal color and an incremental rotation transform, creating a radiating, multicolored landscape. The code sets the SVG canvas dimensions to match the browser window, with `overflow` hidden, and runs in a loop to generate the composition. The piece demonstrates a simple, algorithmic approach to abstract art, relying on the Document Object Model and SVG APIs to construct the visual output.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Art Vert - TN

A generative SVG composition reproduces the visual language of Sol LeWitt’s art, displaying 100 vertical black rectangles evenly spaced across the full viewport height. The code creates each rectangle via the SVG namespace API, setting its x position at increments of 20 pixels with a fixed width of 10 pixels. The piece uses raw JavaScript with `document.createElementNS` and `setAttribute` to build the vector geometry, filling the entire browser window without any data input or interactive behavior.

This example shows a generative, full-screen SVG composition of vertical rectangles. The visualization fills the browser viewport with 100 evenly spaced bars, each 10 pixels wide, that stretch from the top to the bottom of the window. The code uses the JavaScript DOM API to create SVG elements via `document.createElementNS` and sets the `width` and `height` attributes of the container based on the window's `innerWidth` and `innerHeight`. Each rectangle’s `x` position is calculated mathematically as a multiple of 20 pixels, producing a regular, rhythmic pattern. This is a straightforward reproduction of a Sol LeWitt-inspired drawing, relying solely on native SVG and no external libraries.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt 3

A generative artwork reproduces Sol LeWitt's geometric style using stacked horizontal and vertical rectangles. The piece displays a grid of thin colored bands that intersect within a circular boundary, creating a woven optical effect. Built with D3.js, the visualization uses SVG masks to reveal the pattern through two complementary circle masks. The code generates 100 rectangles in each orientation, rendered dynamically across the full browser window, showing how systematic repetition and masking can produce intricate visual textures from simple shapes.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction

This visualization reproduces a Sol Lewitt wall drawing as a grid of four distinct geometric patterns, one per quadrant, created programmatically with vanilla JavaScript and SVG. It shows repetitive black vertical stripes in the upper left, yellow horizontal bars in the upper right, angled rectangles in the lower left, and a matching striped composition in the lower right. The code builds the SVG using `document.createElementNS`, applying `clipPath` elements to confine each shape set to its quadrant. No external libraries are used; all graphics are generated through direct SVG element manipulation.

Fork of Fork of L3 JS Sol Lewitt Reproduction Horizontal

A generative art piece draws two sets of overlapping horizontal and vertical stripes through an SVG canvas, with the stripes visible only within circular masks that sit at the center of the viewport. One mask reveals a circle of dark-on-light stripes, while the second mask inverts the effect, creating a contrasting interplay of line orientation and color. The piece uses D3 v7’s `select`, `range`, and data joins to create 100 rectangles in each direction, applying SVG `<mask>` elements to control visibility.
