Forked from Hello VizHub

A generative SVG composition reproduces the visual language of Sol LeWitt’s art, displaying 100 vertical black rectangles evenly spaced across the full viewport height. The code creates each rectangle via the SVG namespace API, setting its x position at increments of 20 pixels with a fixed width of 10 pixels. The piece uses raw JavaScript with `document.createElementNS` and `setAttribute` to build the vector geometry, filling the entire browser window without any data input or interactive behavior.

Fork of SVG Fundamentals - Sol LeWitt repro follow-along

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece using dynamically generated SVG rectangles. The code creates 100 vertical black bars, each 10 pixels wide, evenly spaced across the full window height, filling the browser viewport. It uses the Document API (`createElementNS`) to build SVG elements from scratch within JavaScript rather than a dedicated visualization library. The rendering approach directly mirrors LeWitt’s geometric, minimalist style by iterating through a fixed count of shapes.

Fork of Sol LeWitt in vanilla js

This example generates an abstract, generative artwork inspired by Sol LeWitt using vanilla JavaScript and SVG. It creates 100 vertical rectangles, each positioned at increasing x-coordinates across the full browser window. The code uses the Document Object Model (DOM) API `document.createElementNS` with the SVG namespace to construct the elements, setting attributes like width, height, and position via `setAttribute`. The rendering approach relies entirely on procedural generation, with no external data source, producing a minimalist grid-like pattern of thin bars against a blank background.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece by rendering a single vertical black rectangle against a blank canvas, echoing the minimalist geometric style of the original work. The code creates an SVG element sized to the full browser window and appends a rectangle positioned 100 pixels from the left, with a width of 10 pixels and a height matching the viewport. It uses the raw DOM APIs `createElementNS` and `appendChild` to build the SVG structure without any external libraries. The piece highlights the simplicity of SVG-based drawing, focusing on the interaction between the fixed shape and the responsive window dimensions.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This generative art piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt wall drawing using pure JavaScript and the SVG API. It displays a grid of alternating horizontal and vertical stripes that intersect within central circular masks, creating a layered geometric pattern. The code constructs an SVG canvas with two circle masks—one revealing horizontal bars, the other vertical bars—overlaid to produce the final composition. No external libraries are used; all elements are created dynamically via `document.createElementNS` and styled with inline attributes.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction Vertical

This example reproduces Sol LeWitt’s minimalist wall drawing as an interactive SVG composition. It generates a grid of alternating horizontal and vertical rectangles, with a circular mask revealing only the central region of the layered shapes. The code uses the DOM API’s `createElementNS` to construct SVG elements directly, setting attributes like `width`, `height`, and `mask` programmatically. No external libraries are required, and the rendering adapts to the full browser viewport, creating a stark black-and-white geometric pattern inspired by the artist’s systematic approach.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece using raw SVG and JavaScript, without any external libraries. It generates 100 horizontal and 100 vertical rectangles that intersect to form a grid across the entire viewport. Two SVG masks—a circular mask and an inverted circular mask—are applied to the rectangles, creating a sharp circular boundary with a single horizontal bar cutting through its center, while the surrounding area shows the full grid of vertical bars. The code uses `document.createElementNS` to build the SVG elements dynamically.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This interactive piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt drawing using generative code. It creates a dynamic geometric composition of rotated SVG rectangles, layering them to form a subtle optical pattern across the browser window. A black triangle is positioned in the center, grounding the abstract lines. The piece uses the SVG API to dynamically create and append elements, including a custom `tri` polygon, with the rectangles rotated at 45 and 315 degrees. The code generates the artwork programmatically through JavaScript, using window dimensions for scaling.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece using raw SVG and JavaScript, showing a grid of vertical lines confined to a circular region at the center of the screen. The code creates an SVG mask with a white rectangle and black circle, then applies that mask to a series of thin vertical rectangles spaced every 20 pixels across the viewport. The result is a minimalist geometric composition where the line grid is visible only inside the circular window, mimicking LeWitt’s systematic drawing style.
