A fork of Sol LeWitt's generative line drawings, this visualization renders 100 rotated lines from a single origin point. Each line uses the SVG `rect` element with a random hexadecimal color and an incremental rotation transform, creating a radiating, multicolored landscape. The code sets the SVG canvas dimensions to match the browser window, with `overflow` hidden, and runs in a loop to generate the composition. The piece demonstrates a simple, algorithmic approach to abstract art, relying on the Document Object Model and SVG APIs to construct the visual output.

Fork of Landcape

This piece generates an abstract geometric landscape from SVG rectangles, using alternating horizontal and vertical bands that intersect to form a grid-like pattern. The artwork references Sol LeWitt’s conceptual style, though the specific visual layout is defined by the code's loop over 100 iterations. Built with the D3.js library (v7.8.4), it leverages D3's `select`, `range`, `symbols`, and `symbol` APIs to construct the SVG elements dynamically. Two masks are applied—one inverting colors—using paths generated from D3's symbolic shapes, which modify the visibility of the overlaid rectangles and create layered, translucent regions across the full canvas.

Fork of Landcape

This piece recreates a Sol LeWitt-inspired composition using a generative drawing algorithm. Vertical and horizontal stripes are overlaid, with two circular masks creating a layered, interlocking visual effect. The artwork is built entirely with raw SVG elements and masks, generated through JavaScript loops. The code manipulates SVG `mask` elements to alternate visibility between the two sets of lines, resulting in a dynamic interplay of stripes within and outside the central circular region. The page uses no external libraries, relying on core DOM manipulation and SVG APIs.

Fork of Landcape

A Fork of Landscape reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired geometric composition using D3 version 7. The visualization displays intersecting horizontal and vertical rectangular strips across the full viewport, with circular masks revealing opposite color contrasts in the center. The code uses d3.range and d3.select to generate SVG rectangles, while mask elements define the circular cropping regions. The rendering relies on SVG attributes for positioning and masking, with no external data source.

Landcape

This piece reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired generative drawing by rendering two sets of overlapping perpendicular line groups on an SVG canvas. Vertical and horizontal bands alternate in visibility through the use of two mask definitions, creating a circular aperture that reveals or conceals each set. The artwork is generated procedurally with plain JavaScript, constructing SVG elements directly via the DOM API without external libraries. The fixed 100-line loop and mask logic produce a stark, grid-like landscape with a central circular disruption.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece, showing a grid of horizontal and vertical black lines that intersect only within two circular regions. A circle at the center acts as a mask, revealing the line patterns where the two shapes overlap. The code uses the SVG API to create elements and defines two `mask` regions to selectively display the lines. The artwork is generated procedurally with JavaScript loops, drawing 100 horizontal and 100 vertical rectangles without any external data source.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This is a generative art piece that reproduces a Sol LeWitt wall drawing using JavaScript and the Document Object Model (DOM) to create SVG elements. It shows a grid of horizontal and vertical lines, with a central circular region where the line pattern is inverted. The code uses a combination of SVG masks with white and black circles to control which sets of lines are visible in the center versus the rest of the canvas. The lines are drawn as rectangular strips, with spacing and stroke width derived from the browser window's dimensions.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Art Vert - TN

A generative SVG composition reproduces the visual language of Sol LeWitt’s art, displaying 100 vertical black rectangles evenly spaced across the full viewport height. The code creates each rectangle via the SVG namespace API, setting its x position at increments of 20 pixels with a fixed width of 10 pixels. The piece uses raw JavaScript with `document.createElementNS` and `setAttribute` to build the vector geometry, filling the entire browser window without any data input or interactive behavior.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt drawing using only raw SVG and JavaScript, with no external libraries. It displays a grid of alternating horizontal and vertical lines that remain visible only within two intersecting circular masks, creating a dynamic visual interplay between the line directions. The code builds the SVG dynamically by appending a set of horizontal rectangles masked by a black/white circle, and vertical rectangles masked by an inverse circle, both centered on the screen. The rendering relies on native SVG mask elements and DOM manipulation in plain JavaScript.
