World Countries Tree

World Countries Tree

This visualization displays the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, using a horizontal tree layout rendered as SVG. The code employs D3 v5’s `tree`, `hierarchy`, and `linkHorizontal` to compute positions and draw curved links, with each node labeled by its region or country name. Users can pan and zoom via `d3.zoom`, with font sizes scaling by node depth. Data comes from a static `data.json` file, and text styling uses the Playfair Display font with white shadows for legibility.

World Countries Tree

This visualization shows a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, with the country names displayed as text labels. The tree layout uses `d3.tree` and `d3.hierarchy` to position nodes, while `d3.linkHorizontal` generates curved paths for the connections. The SVG rendering includes zoom functionality via `d3.zoom`, allowing interactive pan and scale. Data is loaded from a JSON file containing geographical groupings, and text styling uses the Playfair Display font with font sizes that decrease with node depth.

World Countries Tree

This visualization shows the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, as a horizontal tree layout. The data is loaded from a JSON file and rendered as SVG. Using d3.tree, d3.hierarchy, and d3.linkHorizontal, the code draws curved links between nodes and displays country names with font sizes that decrease by depth. The visualization supports zooming and panning via d3.zoom, with a Playfair Display font and teal-colored paths for the connections.

World Countries Tree

This visualization displays the hierarchical structure of world countries organized by continent and subregion, using a horizontal tree layout. The data, sourced from a JSON file, positions country names with larger text for higher-level regions and smaller text for individual nations. The visualization employs d3.tree and d3.hierarchy to compute the layout, while d3.linkHorizontal generates the curved connecting paths. The SVG rendering supports zooming and panning through d3.zoom, with a Playfair Display font for labels and mint-green colored links against a white background.

World Countries Tree

This visualization presents the hierarchical structure of world countries organized by continent and subregion, using a tree layout that branches from a central “World” node. Country names appear at varying font sizes based on their depth in the hierarchy, with linking paths connecting parent and child nodes. The implementation uses D3 v5’s `tree`, `hierarchy`, and `linkHorizontal` functions to compute the layout, while `zoom` enables interactive panning and scaling. Data is loaded from a JSON file, and the SVG rendering applies a custom Playfair Display font with white text shadows for readability.

World Countries Tree

This visualization presents the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, as a horizontal tree diagram. Each node displays a country or region name, with font size decreasing at deeper levels. The tree layout uses D3’s `tree` and `hierarchy` functions, with `linkHorizontal` drawing the curved connections. Pan and zoom are enabled via `d3.zoom`, while text labels include white shadows for readability. Data comes from a JSON file with nested children, rendered as SVG elements with a custom Playfair Display font.

World Countries Tree

This visualization displays a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, with each country shown as a text label and connected by curved links. The D3.js code uses the `tree` layout, `hierarchy`, and `linkHorizontal` generators to position the nodes and draw the connecting paths. Rendered as an SVG with a fixed viewport, the tree supports zooming through the `zoom` module, which updates the root group’s transform on the `'zoom'` event. Node labels vary in font size based on depth, using the Playfair Display typeface.
