Fork of Scatter Plot with Menu for ILINet Flu Surveillance Data
This interactive scatter plot displays ILINet flu surveillance data, showing state-level weekly observations from 2015 onward. Each point represents a state in a given week, with the x-axis fixed to week of the year and the y-axis determined by a user-selected field (ILI percentage, ILI total, providers, or total patients). Color encodes the year, while circle size maps to the number of ILI patients, revealing seasonal patterns where larger points cluster during flu season. Built with D3.js and React, the visualization uses SVG rendering with scales for position, size, and ordinal color, plus a dropdown menu to switch the y-axis attribute. Data originates from the CDC FluView Interactive dataset.
