This visualization displays a hierarchical tree of world countries, starting with the root "World" node and branching down through "Asia" and "Southern Asia" to individual nations such as Afghanistan, India, and Pakistan. The d3.hierarchy and d3.tree layout compute the node positions, while d3.linkRadial generates curved connection paths between parent and child nodes. Rendered as SVG, the diagram also incorporates a d3.zoom interaction that allows users to pan and scale the entire tree. Node labels are positioned dynamically based on depth, with font sizes decreasing for deeper hierarchy levels, all styled using the Playfair Display font from the linked Google Fonts stylesheet.

World Countries Tree Diagram

This tree diagram displays the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent (Asia, Africa, etc.) and region (Southern Asia, Western Asia, etc.), down to individual country names. The visualization uses a horizontal tree layout generated by the d3.tree algorithm, with nodes positioned and links drawn via d3.hierarchy and linkHorizontal. The SVG-based rendering places text labels directly on nodes, whose font size decreases with depth. The diagram includes zoom functionality via the d3.zoom API and loads its data from a JSON file.

World Countries Tree

This interactive visualization displays a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by continent and region. The SVG-based layout uses a horizontal dendrogram structure, where each country name appears as a text label connected by curved, teal paths. The view supports pan and zoom interactions through the `d3.zoom` event handler. The data structure follows a nested JSON format containing `World` as the root, dividing into continents like Asia and its subregions (Southern Asia, Western Asia) before listing individual countries alphabetically. The code employs `d3.tree`, `d3.hierarchy`, `d3.linkHorizontal`, and `d3.event` APIs to compute the layout and manage the dynamic transformation.

World Countries Tree

This visualization displays a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by geographic regions, with each country rendered as a text label positioned along branching paths. The tree layout uses d3.tree and d3.hierarchy to compute node positions, while d3.linkHorizontal draws the connecting links as smooth curves. The view supports pan and zoom through d3.zoom, with font sizes scaling relative to node depth. Data comes from a local JSON file, and text elements are styled using the Playfair Display font with a white shadow for legibility. The SVG rendering approach keeps the visualization scalable and interactive.

World Countries Tree

A world countries tree visualizes hierarchical geographic organization by rendering the United Nations subregion classification as a dendrogram. The visualization shows continents linking to subregions like Southern Asia, which then branch into individual countries such as Afghanistan and India. Built with D3.js v5, the SVG-based layout uses the `d3.tree` and `d3.hierarchy` APIs to compute node positions, while `d3.linkHorizontal` generates the curved paths. Pan and zoom interactions are enabled through `d3.zoom`, with text size decreasing at each depth level to reflect the tree structure.

World Countries Tree

This interactive tree diagram visualizes the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion. The visualization uses a horizontal, left-to-right layout to display the hierarchy, with country names rendered as text nodes. The code employs D3 v5's `tree`, `hierarchy`, `linkHorizontal`, and `zoom` APIs to construct and render the SVG graphic. The root node is labeled "World," with branches for continents like Asia, and subsequent subregions like "Southern Asia" or "Western Asia," leading to individual country labels.

World Countries Tree

This visualization shows the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, as a horizontal tree layout. Each country appears as a text label positioned according to its depth in the hierarchy, with curved link paths connecting parent and child nodes. The implementation uses d3.hierarchy, d3.tree, and d3.linkHorizontal to compute the layout, while d3.zoom enables panning and scaling of the SVG graphic. The data comes from a JSON file grouping countries under regions like Asia and subregions such as Southern Asia.

World Countries Tree

This visualization shows the hierarchical organization of world countries by continent and region, displayed as a horizontal tree layout. The tree is built from a JSON data file that groups countries into subregions like Southern Asia and Western Asia, with all labels rendered in the Playfair Display typeface. It uses D3 v5’s `tree`, `hierarchy`, and `linkHorizontal` generators to compute the layout and draw curved links, while the `zoom` behavior enables panning and scaling of the entire SVG viewport. Text size decreases with each level of depth.

World countries tree

This visualization shows a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by continent and subregion. The layout uses the D3 `tree()` function on hierarchical JSON data, positioning leaf nodes like Afghanistan and India under regional groupings such as Southern Asia. SVG paths connect parent-child relationships, rendered with a yellow-to-teal linear gradient. Text labels display each country’s name, with font size decreasing by depth. The view supports zooming and panning through the D3 `zoom()` behavior on the SVG container.
