This interactive tree diagram visualizes the hierarchical classification of the plant kingdom, from major divisions like Cryptogamae and Phanerogamae down to specific groups such as Algae and Dicotyledons. Users can click nodes to expand or collapse branches, with smooth animated transitions updating the layout. Built with D3 version 3.5, the visualization uses the `d3.layout.tree` and `d3.svg.diagonal` APIs to position nodes and draw connecting links. Data is loaded from an external JSON file and rendered as an SVG with animated node and link transitions.

ICE-8 Tree_Plant Kingdom (Dhanusree Kodali)

This visualization presents a hierarchical classification of the Plant Kingdom as an animated, collapsible tree diagram. It shows the breakdown from the root into Non-Vascular and Vascular categories, further subdividing into Seed/Spore Bearing groups and specific examples like Angiosperms and Grasses. Built with D3.js v3 and jQuery, it uses `d3.layout.tree` for layout and SVG rendering. Node colors vary by type, and interactions include click-to-collapse, zooming via `d3.behavior.zoom`, and animated transitions for expanding and collapsing branches.

Animal Kingdom ICE-8

This interactive tree diagram maps the hierarchical classification of the Animal Kingdom, branching from a root node into Vertebrates and Invertebrates, with further subdivisions like Warm/Cold Blooded and phyla such as Arthropoda. Implemented with the D3.js library, the visualization uses the `d3.layout.tree` and `svg.diagonal` functions to render nodes and curved links. Users can click any node to collapse or expand its children, triggering animated transitions via `transition` and `duration`. The SVG rendering features green leaf nodes, red links, and an aqua background, with data hard-coded as a JavaScript object.

my PLANTS tree

This interactive tree diagram visualizes a hierarchical classification of plants, with a root node labeled “PLANTS” branching into categories like FLOWERS, CACTUS, VEGETABLES, and JADES, each with two child species. Users can click nodes to collapse or expand subtrees, with smooth animated transitions. Built with D3.js v3, it uses the `d3.layout.tree` and `d3.svg.diagonal` APIs to compute positions and draw curved links, rendering nodes as circles and text in an SVG. The dataset is hardcoded as a JavaScript object in the HTML file, with styling defined in embedded CSS.

Tree Diagram

This interactive tree diagram displays hierarchical animal classification data from a JSON file, with nodes that collapse and expand on click. Built with D3 v3, it uses the `d3.layout.tree` for layout and `d3.svg.diagonal` for curved links, with SVG rendering and animated transitions between states via `transition.attr`. Node styling includes green circles and comic sans labels, while purple links highlight parent-child relationships.

Visualizing Tree for Plant Species

This example visualizes a hierarchical tree of plant species, showing the branching relationships between flowering plants like tulips and roses, and non-flowering plants such as ferns and mosses. The D3.js tree layout organizes nodes horizontally by depth, while SVG circles and green links represent each species and its connections. Clicking a node triggers an animated collapse or expansion of its children using D3's transition system. The code uses `d3.layout.tree`, `d3.svg.diagonal`, and `d3.selectAll` with 750-millisecond transitions for smooth interactivity.

Fork of Fork of Fork of Family Tree of plants

This visualization presents an interactive hierarchical tree of the animal kingdom, showing the classification from "Animals" down through vertebrates and invertebrates to specific groups like Mammals, Birds, Fish, and Amphibians. Built with D3.js v3, it renders nodes as colored rectangles connected by animated SVG links, with each node color-coded by its hierarchical level (type1 through type4). The layout uses `d3.layout.tree` with zoom and drag behaviors, and includes tooltips and click interactions to expand or collapse subtrees. Data comes from a JSON file structured with nested children arrays.

Family Tree of plants

This example shows an interactive, animated family tree of plants, using color-coded nodes to represent different plant types and connecting them with labeled, arrowed links. The visualization loads hierarchical data from a JSON file and renders it as an expandable tree using D3.js v3’s `d3.layout.tree`, with SVG elements for nodes and links. Users can click nodes to collapse or expand branches, while a zoom behavior and drop-shadow filter enhance the display. The tree layout dynamically recalculates node positions, and collisions are checked during updates.

Fork of Family Tree of plants

This visualization arranges plant taxonomy into an interactive, animated tree diagram, using colored, rounded rectangles to represent different classification levels from “plants” down to specific groups like “tulips” and “flowers.” Built with D3.js v3, the layout is computed via `d3.layout.tree`, while SVG elements are manipulated with `d3.select` and standard zoom/pan behaviors. Node colors are assigned by type, and tooltips plus click-to-collapse interactions are included; the diagram loads hierarchical JSON data containing names, links, and direction attributes, with rendering handled primarily through SVG groups, foreignObject for text, and CSS-defined arrow and link styling.
