This example renders a minimalist generative artwork inspired by Sol LeWitt, displaying a grid of 100 horizontal black rectangles across the full browser window. Using the SVG API directly via `createElementNS`, it calculates the viewport dimensions from `window.innerWidth` and `window.innerHeight`, then draws each band with a fixed height of 10 pixels and vertical spacing of 20 pixels. The result is a simple, repeating pattern of lines that fills the screen, echoing LeWitt’s conceptual wall drawings through procedural code.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Platt - horizontal

This example renders a minimalist visualization inspired by Sol LeWitt, showing a grid of vertical black rectangles evenly spaced across the full width and height of the browser window. The code uses the SVG API to create a single `<svg>` element with 100 `<rect>` elements, each 10 pixels wide and positioned every 20 pixels, filling the viewport. The rectangles are drawn directly with `document.createElementNS` and appended to the SVG, with no data source beyond the computed window dimensions.

Fork of Sol LeWitt reproduction (horizontal)

This generative visualization creates a minimalist wall of evenly spaced horizontal bars that extend across the full screen width. The code calculates bar height and count dynamically based on the browser window’s dimensions, using a fixed bar length of 10 pixels with doubled padding between each band. It constructs an SVG element via the DOM API (`document.createElementNS`), sets its width and height attributes to the viewport size, and appends each rectangle sequentially. The effect is a clean, repetitive grid pattern inspired by Sol LeWitt’s geometric art, rendered purely through JavaScript without external libraries, responding directly to the viewing environment.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

A fork of a Sol LeWitt reproduction renders a minimalist grid of vertical black rectangles on a white background. All 100 rectangles share a fixed line width of 10 pixels and are spaced 20 pixels apart, extending the full height of the 960-by-600 viewport. The code constructs the SVG dynamically using the `document.createElementNS` API, setting width, height, and fill attributes without external libraries. The script’s commented-out sections reveal an unused mask-based variant, but the active visualization displays only the simple striped pattern.

Fork of Sol LeWitt 2

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt wall drawing as an abstract, geometric visualization. It shows a series of 100 thin, horizontal rectangles stacked vertically across the full height of the browser window, forming a simple striped pattern. The piece is rendered using the SVG API, creating each `rect` element dynamically via `document.createElementNS`. The code sets the width of each rectangle to match the viewport width, while the vertical position and height are determined by a loop increment, producing a clean, repetitive composition in the style of the original artwork.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Vertical

This example recreates a Sol LeWitt-inspired wall drawing as a dense field of uniform vertical bars rendered in black on a full-window SVG canvas. It shows how simple repetition of a geometric primitive can produce a rhythmic, minimalist composition. The code uses the raw Document Object Model API, creating 100 `rect` elements via `document.createElementNS` and appending them to an SVG root. Each rectangle is positioned at twenty-pixel intervals, with a fixed width of ten pixels and a height matching the browser viewport, filling the entire display area.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Art Vert - TN

A generative SVG composition reproduces the visual language of Sol LeWitt’s art, displaying 100 vertical black rectangles evenly spaced across the full viewport height. The code creates each rectangle via the SVG namespace API, setting its x position at increments of 20 pixels with a fixed width of 10 pixels. The piece uses raw JavaScript with `document.createElementNS` and `setAttribute` to build the vector geometry, filling the entire browser window without any data input or interactive behavior.

Sol LeWitt Platt - vertical

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece using vertical black lines rendered as a full-screen SVG background. The visualization shows a series of evenly spaced, thin vertical rectangles that fill the viewport, creating a minimalist grid-like pattern. It works by generating 100 SVG `<rect>` elements in a loop, each positioned at 20-pixel intervals with a fixed width of 10 pixels and height equal to the window’s height. The code uses the native Document Object Model (DOM) API to create and append the SVG elements, with no external libraries or data sources involved.

Fork of Sol Lewit reproduction vertical lines

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired drawing as a series of vertical black lines. It uses the raw SVG API to create and append 100 `rect` elements, each with a fixed width of 10 pixels and a spacing of 20 pixels, spanning the full height of the viewport. The code computes the canvas dimensions from `innerWidth` and `innerHeight`, then positions the rectangles horizontally across the entire screen. This straightforward, procedural rendering approach directly mirrors the minimalist aesthetic of the original conceptual artwork.
