CSCE-5320-Assignment-6-Ed-Salinas

This example uses a scatterplot to show how six American Athletic Conference men’s basketball teams perform across the season, mapping game date to the x-axis, team score to the y-axis, and total rebounds to the size of each circle. The visualization reads from a CSV file of athletic conference box scores, sorts the data chronologically, and uses a custom ordinal color scale to distinguish teams. It relies on D3 v7’s `d3.scalePoint`, `d3.scaleLinear`, and `d3.scaleSqrt` for the encoding, and includes a hover tooltip with a zero-millisecond delay via the D3 selection style.

CSCE-5320-Assignment-5-Ed-Salinas

This scatterplot visualizes NCAA athletic conference team box scores, mapping team score along the x-axis and total rebounds along the y-axis within a single SVG. Team name encodes categorical color hue, while three-point field goals made determine each point’s radius. Built with D3 v7, the chart uses d3.csv to load remote data, d3.extent, d3.mean, and d3.median to summarize the team_score distribution, and d3.scaleLinear for positional axes. Interactive hover effects adjust mark opacity, with all rendering handled by SVG elements.

Fork of HTML Starter

This example renders a plain HTML page with a centered message, demonstrating a minimal setup for a web-based visualization. The page uses standard HTML elements and CSS to display the text, while a separate JavaScript file logs "hello world" to the console upon load. No external libraries or data sources are included, making it a simple template for starting new projects.
