This example uses a scatterplot to show how six American Athletic Conference men’s basketball teams perform across the season, mapping game date to the x-axis, team score to the y-axis, and total rebounds to the size of each circle. The visualization reads from a CSV file of athletic conference box scores, sorts the data chronologically, and uses a custom ordinal color scale to distinguish teams. It relies on D3 v7’s `d3.scalePoint`, `d3.scaleLinear`, and `d3.scaleSqrt` for the encoding, and includes a hover tooltip with a zero-millisecond delay via the D3 selection style.
