Fork of Social_Network_graph_ICE-8

A force-directed network graph visualizes nine people grouped into five communities, with weighted links connecting them. The graph uses a circular node layout with blue circles, red text labels, and black lines whose thickness corresponds to link weight. Built with d3.v4 and d3.layout.force, it loads node and link data from a JSON file, applies gravity, distance, and charge parameters, and enables dragging of nodes. The SVG rendering updates positions on each tick via the force event.

Cars Scatter Plot

This scatter plot visualizes the relationship between vehicle weight and horsepower for a dataset of cars, with each point representing an individual model. The plot uses D3 v7’s `scaleLinear` for both axes, `axisLeft` and `axisBottom` for tick marks, and SVG circles with partial opacity. Data is loaded from a CSV file via `d3.csv`, with numeric fields parsed before rendering. Grid lines are drawn using negative tick sizes, and axis labels appear above and beside the plot.

Scatter Plot

This scatter plot displays the population of the top 10 most populous countries, with each circle positioned along a linear scale for population and a point scale for country names. The visualization loads data from a CSV file, multiplies the population values by 1,000, and renders an SVG using D3 v7. It employs `scaleLinear`, `scalePoint`, `axisLeft`, and `axisBottom`, with gridlines and custom tick formatting that abbreviates large numbers (e.g., 1.4B). The chart includes labeled axes and a title, styled via external CSS.

Customizing Axes

This example visualizes the populations of the top ten most populous countries as a horizontal bar chart. It demonstrates how to customize chart axes, including removing default domain lines and tick marks, adding custom axis labels, and formatting tick values to display in billions. The chart uses D3's `select`, `csv`, `scaleLinear`, `scaleBand`, `axisLeft`, `axisBottom`, and `format` APIs. Data is loaded from a CSV file and rendered as SVG rectangles.

Making a Bar Chart

This example displays a horizontal bar chart of population figures for ten countries, sourced from a CSV file. The visualization uses D3.v7 to load the data, scale the bars with a linear population axis and a banded country axis, and render SVG rectangles with steelblue fill. It also demonstrates axis generation, margins, and basic SVG styling for a clean, readable chart.

Smiley Face

This example draws a simple smiley face entirely with SVG shapes: a yellow circle for the head, two black circles for the eyes, and an arc for the mouth. The layout is computed from the SVG’s width and height attributes, with fixed constants for eye spacing and altitude. It uses D3 v7’s `select` and `arc` helpers, applying `attr` to position each element and `path` with an arc generator to define the mouth’s curved geometry.
