Fork of Let's make a face with D3.js

This example displays a world map in a natural Earth projection, rendered as SVG paths with country boundaries. The visualization uses the `d3.geoPath` and `d3.geoNaturalEarth1` projections from D3 v6, and the `topojson` library’s `feature` function to extract country geometries from the world-atlas TopoJSON data. Country names are loaded from a TSV file and shown as tooltips on hover. The map highlights countries in light green, which turn red on mouse-over, with a blue sphere outline.

Map learning process

This example visualizes the world map using a natural Earth projection, displaying individual countries as light green polygons with thin black borders against a yellow sphere. The visualization fetches geographic data from the World Atlas TopoJSON dataset, then uses d3.json to load it and topojson.feature to convert the TopoJSON topology into GeoJSON features. The rendering relies on d3.geoPath and d3.geoNaturalEarth1 to project and draw the countries as SVG paths, with the sphere background created manually via d3.geoPath.
