This example shows the number of patients per day as a bar chart, with days on the x-axis and patient counts on the y-axis. It loads a CSV file using the `csv` function from d3.v5 inside a React hook, then passes the parsed data to Victory Charts’ `VictoryBar` and `VictoryChart` components. The chart uses React’s `useState` and `useEffect` to fetch data asynchronously, and renders a fixed-width, 960×500 visualization with domain padding and custom tick label styles.

This bar chart shows the population of the top 10 most populous countries using 2018 estimates from the United Nations World Population Prospects. It demonstrates custom D3 axis styling, including tick formatting that converts values to billions and the removal of axis lines. The visualization uses d3.csv, scaleLinear, scaleBand, axisBottom, axisLeft, and format to render the SVG. Population values are multiplied by 1,000, and the chart includes a title and x-axis label.
