This interactive D3 v4 force-directed graph visualizes relationships between nodes and links, with curved connections that dynamically adjust as the layout simulates physical forces. Users can filter the displayed network through dropdown menus, and the animation runs live in SVG. The example is built on a small dataset of interconnected nodes, with link curvature helping to reduce visual clutter when multiple connections share the same nodes.

(d3v4) Force Layout w update buttons

This interactive D3 v4 force-directed graph visualizes a network of nodes and links, with each node representing an entity and links colored by a categorical attribute (e.g., "Ba", "Gy"). The graph is rendered as an SVG with animated force simulation, and users can click "Update" to apply new data or "Reset" to restore the original layout. Nodes are colored using a categorical color scale, and hovering over a node displays a tooltip with its details. The visualization demonstrates dynamic data updates and filtering through user-controlled buttons.

Forcelayout v7

This interactive D3 v4 force-directed graph visualizes a network of 20 nodes and 23 links, where nodes represent entities with categorical attributes (T and Q) and links represent shared connections between them. The graph uses the force simulation to position nodes, with curved connection paths and colored links. A color scale maps node categories to the schemeCategory20 palette, and hovering over nodes reveals tooltips. Two buttons allow users to update the dataset with new node/link combinations or reset to the original configuration, demonstrating dynamic data binding and smooth transitions in the force layout. The visualization includes a legend to map colors to node types.

D3 v4 - force layout

This example demonstrates a force-directed graph layout using D3 v4's physical simulation API. The visualization shows 100 labeled nodes connected by random links, with node sizes varying between 8 and 28 pixels. The simulation applies multiple forces—link attraction, collision avoidance, many-body repulsion, and centering—to position the nodes dynamically. Dragging nodes with the mouse temporarily restarts the simulation with higher alpha, allowing interactive manipulation of the network. The code uses `d3.forceSimulation`, `d3.forceLink`, `d3.forceCollide`, `d3.forceManyBody`, and `d3.drag` to render SVG circles and lines, updating positions on each simulation tick.

D3 v4 - force layout

This example demonstrates a force-directed network layout of 100 nodes and 100 links, rendered as animated SVG circles and lines. The visualization uses d3.forceSimulation with forces for link attraction, collision detection, many-body repulsion, centering, and x/y positioning. Users can drag nodes within the 900×500 pixel graph area, with the simulation’s alpha target adjusting during interaction. The layout updates every tick, repositioning nodes and links based on the simulation state.

D3 force layout

A force-directed graph layout shows a network of 26 named nodes connected by 11 links, with each node displayed as a GitHub favicon icon and a text label. The visualization uses D3 v3’s `d3.layout.force` to simulate physical forces with zero gravity, a charge of -2, and a link distance of 100, while the simulation updates node positions and link coordinates on each tick event. Data is loaded from a local `graph.json` file containing node groups and link betweenness values, and the SVG rendering includes draggable nodes and grey lines for links.

D3: Force layout (300 ejes)

This example shows a force-directed network of 300 nodes connected by a dense set of links, with each node rendered as a small circle. The layout uses d3.v3’s force layout to position the nodes and links dynamically, while the SVG elements are created and updated through D3’s data-join methods. The nodes array is built implicitly from the link source and target indices, and the visualization animates the force simulation to converge on a stable arrangement. The dataset consists of randomized link pairs, as defined in the embedded JavaScript array.
