A blank SVG canvas with a single text element reading an empty label in the Wingdings font. The visualization loads two datasets of West Nile virus case counts by U.S. state for 2015 and 2016, but the code does not parse or render them. The example relies on d3.v4 to append the SVG and set basic attributes, with no data binding, scales, or layout functions implemented.

This example shows a blank SVG canvas with a single instructional text element, prompting the user to edit the code. It uses D3 v4 to select the body and append an SVG container, then adds a text node with a monospace font and large size. The visualization is static, with no data or interactivity, serving as a minimal starting point for building custom charts.

This example displays a blank SVG canvas with a single line of placeholder text. The visualization is generated using the D3.js library (version 4) and rendered as Scalable Vector Graphics. The code creates an SVG element with fixed dimensions of 960 by 500 pixels, then appends a text element containing an instructional message. The text is positioned using the `attr` method for x and y coordinates, and styled with a monospace font at 36 pixels. The example serves as a starting template for building custom interactive visualizations.

This visualization shows a blank SVG canvas with dimensions of 960 by 500 pixels. The code creates an SVG element and appends it to the document body, but does not draw any data or shapes. The interaction is limited to the static empty canvas. The example uses the D3.js version 4 library, specifically referencing the `d3.select` API to initiate the SVG creation.

This visualization displays West Nile virus case data for U.S. states from 2015 and 2016, comparing neuroinvasive and non-neuroinvasive disease cases, total cases, deaths, and presumptive viremic blood donors. The example uses D3 v4 to create an SVG canvas, though the main visualization logic is not implemented—the code only appends an empty text element with Wingdings font. The data files contain tabular state-level statistics, but no chart or graphic is rendered in the current script. The source text files provide the underlying information, while the SVG setup prepares the framework.

This example displays a blank SVG canvas with a single line of instructional text, “Edit the code below to change me!”, positioned at coordinates (120, 200) in a monospace font. The code creates an SVG element using d3.select and appends a text element, setting its attributes for size, position, and font family. It relies on D3.js v4, loaded via a CDN, and renders entirely through SVG within a fixed full-viewport body. The visualization serves as a minimal starting template for user modification.

A D3.js v4 example renders a large, fixed 960x500 SVG canvas with a single text element displaying "Hey-o!" in a monospace font. The text is positioned at coordinates (120, 200) with a 36-pixel font size, demonstrating basic SVG text placement and styling. The code uses `d3.select("body").append("svg")` to create the visualization and `svg.append("text")` to add the content, with no data loading or interaction. This serves as a minimal template for starting new D3 blocks, showing the core structure of an SVG-based chart.

This example renders a blank SVG canvas with a single line of instructional text, “Edit the code below to change me!,” displayed in large monospace font. It demonstrates the basic setup of a D3.v4 visualization project, using `d3.select` to target the document body and `svg.append` to create the text element. The visualization serves as a minimal starting template for further development, with a fixed viewport size of 960 by 500 pixels.

This example displays a blank SVG canvas with a single hardcoded text message, "Edit the code below to change me!" positioned at coordinates (120, 200) in a monospace font. The visualization uses D3 v4 to select the body element, append an SVG of 960 by 500 pixels, and add the text element. It serves as a minimal starter template for exploring D3’s SVG manipulation capabilities, with no external data or interactive behavior included.
