Forked from Fork of solLewitt

This example presents a generative composition of horizontal and vertical stripes on a full-screen SVG canvas. The artwork employs two SVG masks—one with a white circle on a black background and another with a black circle on white—to selectively reveal the rectangular bars. One hundred horizontal bars and one hundred vertical bars are created via JavaScript, with each set masked by a separate circle region. The code manipulates the Document Object Model using `document.createElementNS` and sets attributes like `width`, `height`, and `mask` to construct the visual, producing geometric intersections.

Fork of Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction vertical

This example creates a dynamic, full-screen SVG composition of overlapping striped patterns. It uses JavaScript to generate 100 horizontal and 100 vertical rectangles, each with a fixed thickness, and applies an SVG mask to each set. A circular mask restricts the horizontal stripes to a central circle, while an inverted mask applies the same circular cutout to the vertical stripes. The result is a grid of lines that are visible only within the intersecting circular region, demonstrating the use of the SVG `<mask>` element and dynamic DOM manipulation with `createElementNS`.

Fork of Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction Vertical Inverst

This example generates an abstract geometric composition by layering horizontal and vertical bars over a full-screen SVG canvas. A circular mask and its inverse are created using the SVG `mask` element, with the first mask revealing horizontal strips in the central circle and the second exposing vertical strips outside it. The code uses the DOM API `createElementNS` to construct SVG elements dynamically, setting attributes like `width`, `height`, and `mask` via `setAttribute`. No external libraries are used; all shapes are drawn procedurally in a loop with 100 iterations per orientation.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Vertical

This example reproduces Sol LeWitt’s *Vertical* art piece using two SVG masks to interleave horizontal and vertical black bars. A circular mask reveals the horizontal bars inside the circle while hiding them outside, and a complementary mask reveals the vertical bars only outside the circle. The code builds the SVG directly with the Document Object Model (DOM) API, creating 100 rectangles at 20-pixel intervals across a 600×500 canvas. The result is a clean, geometric pattern that contrasts dense line grids with an empty circular void.

Fork of Sol lewitt_vertical

This example displays a full-screen SVG canvas filled with one hundred horizontal 10-pixel-high rectangles, layered vertically to create a striped pattern. A circular mask, centered on the viewport, reveals only the central portion of the bars, leaving the rest of the canvas blank. The work is a direct adaptation of Sol LeWitt’s geometric style, rendered using the standard DOM API for SVG creation and manipulation, with the mask and shapes defined programmatically, though the mask is not applied to the rectangles in the final loop.

Fork of Fork of Martin's Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This piece generates a geometric abstraction inspired by Sol LeWitt, displaying a full-window SVG canvas filled with horizontal and vertical stripes. The stripes are masked by two overlapping SVG polygon masks—one triangle exposes horizontal bands, while a second, inverted triangle reveals vertical bands against a white backdrop. The work nests multiple masks and rectangles, creating a dynamic interplay of intersecting line grids. Built with JavaScript’s `document.createElementNS` for SVG elements, it computes layout dynamically from `window.innerWidth` and `window.innerHeight`, drawing 150 horizontal and 150 vertical rectangles to form the final composition.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Piece Vertical

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt-style geometric composition, showing a grid of horizontal and vertical bars that are visible only through two circular masks. One mask reveals a full circle of bars, while a second, inverted mask creates a contrasting ring effect. The artwork is rendered entirely with browser-native SVG APIs, using `document.createElementNS` to construct rectangles, masks, and circles dynamically. The code sets up a white circle against a black background in the first mask and the inverse in the second, then applies these masks to two sets of 100 striped rectangles. No external libraries are used; the piece relies on pure SVG manipulation and JavaScript loops.

Fork of Fork of Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction Vertical 4

This example creates a generative geometric composition inspired by Sol LeWitt, displayed as horizontal and vertical stripes across the screen. Two SVG masks—one with a white circle on black, another with a black circle on white—reveal alternating sets of striped rectangles, producing a crosshatch pattern where the stripes overlap. The visualization uses vanilla JavaScript with the DOM API to construct SVG elements dynamically, setting the width and height based on the browser window. It shows how masking and nested loops can generate a structured, Op-Art-like visual effect without external libraries.

Fork of Fork of Fork of Sol Levitt Vertical

This generative art piece recreates a Sol LeWitt-inspired wall drawing using only SVG shapes. It shows a grid of horizontal and vertical black stripes confined to a central circular area. The code builds two SVG masks: one cuts a hole in a black circle, while the other inverts it, so overlapping stripes are visible only within the ring. The stripes are generated with JavaScript loops, each rect targeted to a specific mask via `url(#circle-mask)`. The artwork adapts to the browser window dimensions.
