This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired vertical line composition, where a series of narrow rectangles fill the viewport. A circular mask restricts visibility, so only the lines inside a central circle are visible against the black background. The code builds an SVG scene using the browser’s native `document.createElementNS` API, generating each rectangle in a loop and applying the mask via a URL reference. No external libraries are used, and the layout adapts to the full window dimensions.

Fork of Sollewitt repro vertical

This example reworks a Sol LeWitt-inspired wall drawing using the browser’s JavaScript API. It shows a full-window SVG canvas with a single green square rectangle placed at the top-left corner. The code constructs the SVG element and its child rect via `document.createElementNS`, sets their width and height attributes, and appends them to the page body. The visualization focuses on the fundamental process of programmatic SVG generation. A commented-out section hints at a circular mask and layered stripes, but the active code renders only the basic rectangle.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Vertical Variant

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt-style geometric composition on a full-screen SVG canvas. It shows a grid of thin horizontal and vertical bars intersecting around a central circular void, creating a cross-shaped negative space. The piece uses two SVG masks to selectively reveal either the horizontal or vertical rectangles. One mask shows a white circle on a black background, while the other is inverted; JavaScript loops generate 100 rectangles in each orientation, each assigned one of the masks to achieve the layered effect.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This visualization shows a geometric composition of thin horizontal and vertical lines forming a cruciform pattern, with darker bands where the strokes overlap. It uses a circular mask to hide line ends, creating a clean, clipped boundary around the central region. The code builds the SVG structure entirely with JavaScript APIs, including `document.createElementNS` and `setAttribute`, and applies two SVG masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) to alternate the visibility of the two line sets. The work is an algorithmic reproduction of a Sol LeWitt drawing, driven purely by nested loops and hard-coded dimensions.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece using an SVG rendering approach. It displays a grid of horizontal and vertical lines that intersect within two circular masks, creating a nested geometric pattern centered on the screen. The code constructs SVG elements dynamically via the Document API, using `createElementNS` to build rectangles and circles. Two masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) control visibility: the first reveals horizontal stripes inside a 200-pixel-radius circle, while the second exposes vertical stripes in the surrounding area, producing a layered, minimalist composition.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction observation

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt art piece, displaying a grid of thin horizontal and vertical lines that intersect only within a central circular region. The code creates an SVG canvas and uses two SVG masks (`circle-mask` and `circle-mask-2`) with inverted fills to control which rectangles are visible. One set of 100 horizontal strips is clipped by a white circle on a black mask, while another set of 100 vertical strips is clipped by a black circle on a white mask, producing a layered crosshatch effect inside the circle. The full-window black and white rectangles are rendered in plain HTML5 SVG without any external libraries.

Fork of Sol LeWitt Reproduction Vertical

This example reproduces Sol LeWitt’s minimalist wall drawing as an interactive SVG composition. It generates a grid of alternating horizontal and vertical rectangles, with a circular mask revealing only the central region of the layered shapes. The code uses the DOM API’s `createElementNS` to construct SVG elements directly, setting attributes like `width`, `height`, and `mask` programmatically. No external libraries are required, and the rendering adapts to the full browser viewport, creating a stark black-and-white geometric pattern inspired by the artist’s systematic approach.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Vertical

This example reproduces Sol LeWitt’s *Vertical* art piece using two SVG masks to interleave horizontal and vertical black bars. A circular mask reveals the horizontal bars inside the circle while hiding them outside, and a complementary mask reveals the vertical bars only outside the circle. The code builds the SVG directly with the Document Object Model (DOM) API, creating 100 rectangles at 20-pixel intervals across a 600×500 canvas. The result is a clean, geometric pattern that contrasts dense line grids with an empty circular void.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction Vertical

This example reproduces Sol LeWitt’s vertical wall drawing using pure SVG and JavaScript. It creates a circular mask and its inverse, then renders 100 horizontal and 100 vertical stripes that alternate visibility through those masks. The result is a grid of intersecting lines with a circular void in the center, generated entirely through DOM manipulation and SVG `mask` elements.
