This tree visualization shows the hierarchical structure of world regions and countries, with horizontal links connecting parent nodes to their children using d3.tree and d3.hierarchy. The code loads data from a JSON file, positions nodes based on the layout’s width and height, and renders the connections as SVG paths via d3.linkHorizontal. The viewport fills the entire browser window, and the data includes continents, subregions, and individual countries as leaf nodes.

Tree

This visualization shows a hierarchical tree of world regions and countries, with the root labeled "World" branching into continents like Asia and sub-regions such as Southern Asia, and further into individual nation names. It uses D3 v5’s `tree` layout to compute node positions and `linkHorizontal` to generate curved SVG paths for the connections. The code loads hierarchical data from a `data.json` file and renders links in an SVG element sized to the browser viewport, without displaying node labels.

World Countries Tree

This visualization shows a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, with the root labeled “World.” It uses d3.tree and d3.hierarchy to compute the layout, then renders the connections with d3.linkHorizontal as SVG paths. The data is loaded asynchronously from a local JSON file via d3.json, and the chart fills the browser viewport by setting the SVG dimensions to the client’s width and height.

World Countries Tree

This visualization presents the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion. The tree diagram lays out nodes horizontally, with continents as the top level and individual countries as the final leaves. The code uses `d3.tree` for layout, `d3.hierarchy` to parse the JSON data, and `d3.linkHorizontal` to generate the curved connecting paths. Text size scales based on the node’s depth, and the SVG rendering supports pan-and-zoom interaction through the `d3.zoom` event handler. The data is loaded from `data.json` and styled with Playfair Display typography.

world tree

This visualization shows the hierarchical structure of world geography, displaying continents, subregions, and countries as a horizontal tree layout. The data comes from a JSON file with nested parent-child relationships. Using D3 v5, the code applies the d3.tree layout to compute node positions and renders links with d3.linkHorizontal paths in an SVG. The tree spreads from the root node “World” on the left, with branches extending rightward to reveal the full country list.

World Countries Tree

This visualization displays the hierarchical structure of world countries, organized by continent and subregion, as an interactive tree diagram. Using D3 v5’s `tree` layout and `linkHorizontal` path generator, the SVG renders curved links between parent and child nodes, with country names positioned along the hierarchy. The code loads hierarchical JSON data, applies `hierarchy` to structure it, and styles text with serif fonts, varying font size by depth. The visualization relies on D3’s selection, zoom, and JSON loading APIs, with static rendering of all nodes and links.

World Countries Tree

This visualization shows a hierarchical tree of world countries, organized by continent and sub-region. The tree layout displays each country as a text label, with branching paths connecting nations to their regional groupings, using a zoomable interface for navigation. The code uses d3.hierarchy and d3.tree to compute the layout, d3.linkHorizontal for the connecting paths, and d3.zoom for panning and scaling. Data comes from a nested JSON file, and the SVG rendering highlights the structure with teal links and Playfair Display typography.

world countries tree

This visualization presents a hierarchical tree of world countries, regions, and subregions as an SVG graphic. It uses a D3.js tree layout to position the data in a radial or icicle-like structure, with horizontal links connecting parent and child nodes. The code imports functions like `tree`, `hierarchy`, and `linkHorizontal` from D3 v5, loads the hierarchical data from a local `world.json` file, and renders the connections as SVG `path` elements.

Building a Tree Visualization

This visualization displays a hierarchical tree of world regions and countries, branching from a central root through continents and subregions to individual nations. The layout uses a left-to-right tree structure with horizontal connector lines, rendered as SVG paths. The code builds the hierarchy with `d3.hierarchy`, computes positions with `d3.tree`, and draws curved links using `linkHorizontal`. Text labels are positioned at each node with font sizes decreasing by depth, and a `d3.zoom` handler enables panning and scaling of the entire diagram. The data comes from the embedded `data.json` file.
