Loading and Parsing CSV Data

This example demonstrates how to load and parse CSV data using D3 v7, displaying summary statistics including file size, row count, and column count. It uses the `d3.csv` method to fetch and parse the remote dataset, while `d3.csvParse` and `d3.csvFormat` handle conversion between parsed objects and formatted text to calculate the file size in kilobytes. The output is rendered into a large `<pre>` element, and the code also includes an alternative `fetch` and `response.text()` approach shown in comments.

Mouse Follower

A yellow circle follows the mouse cursor across a 960-by-500 SVG canvas. Built with React and ReactDOM, the app tracks pointer coordinates via an `onMouseMove` handler on the SVG element, storing them in state with `useState` and updating them through `useCallback`. Each move re-renders the circle's `cx` and `cy` attributes, creating a direct, responsive visual link between pointer position and the rendered shape.

Fork of Hello VizHub

This example demonstrates a minimal D3.js visualization that renders a static text message, "Hello VizHub!", centered on the page. It shows how to import the `select` function from D3 v5 via UNPKG, along with a local ES6 module that exports the message string. The code uses `select('#message').text(message)` to update the DOM, with styling applied through an external CSS file. The visualization highlights the basic module loading and DOM manipulation workflow in a VizHub project.

Fork of Smiley Face

A grid of React-rendered smiley faces fills the viewport, each face randomly varied in stroke width, eye placement, eye radius, and mouth curvature. The code composes reusable SVG components (`FaceContainer`, `BackgroundCircle`, `Eyes`, `Mouth`) and uses `d3.arc` to define the mouth path. Each face is independently generated using `Math.random` within `d3.range`, yielding a playful, non-identical set of expressions.
