forkchoropleth

A forkchoropleth is a world choropleth map that colors countries by their economy classification, using a spectral color scale. The visualization includes a color legend with labeled circles and a zoomable, panning map where hovering highlights individual countries. Built with D3 v5, it uses `d3.geoPath`, `d3.geoNaturalEarth1`, `d3.zoom`, `d3.scaleOrdinal`, and `d3.schemeSpectral` to render SVG paths from TopoJSON world-atlas data, with tooltips showing country names and economic groups.

Fork of Choropleth Map

This choropleth map colors countries by economic classification using a categorical ordinal color scale derived from d3.scaleOrdinal and d3.schemeSpectral. The visualization renders geographic shapes with d3.geoPath and a natural Earth projection, while supporting interactive pan and zoom via d3.zoom. Data comes from the World Atlas TopoJSON and TSV files, loaded through d3.json and d3.tsv. A custom d3 color legend with circles and labels appears on the left, and hovering highlights individual countries in red.
