Responding to Resize

This example demonstrates an SVG chart that automatically adjusts its size to fill the browser window, drawing a simple green X to visually confirm the layout. It uses D3 v5 to select the container div and append an SVG element, then defines a `redraw` function that reads the container’s `clientWidth` and `clientHeight` to set the SVG’s width and height attributes. A resize event listener triggers `redraw` on every window size change, while `selectAll` and data joins update the two diagonal line elements.

Stylized Bar Chart

This stylized bar chart displays the top 10 most populous countries using data from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2019. Built with React and D3 v5, it renders SVG rectangles whose widths are scaled by population via `scaleLinear`, while `scaleBand` positions each country along the y-axis. The chart includes styled axes, tick marks, and a tooltip on each bar, with the D3 `format` function converting large numbers to abbreviations like "B" for billions.

Let's make a face with D3.js!

This example uses D3.js v5 to build a cartoon face from SVG primitives. A large yellow circle forms the head, with two black circles for eyes placed at fixed offsets and a yellow arc path generated via the `arc()` function for the mouth. Rectangular eyebrows are animated with chained `.transition()` calls, moving downward and back over two seconds each. The SVG canvas is set to 960 by 500 pixels with a red background, and all shapes are positioned relative to the center using D3's selection and attribute methods.
