This example displays a horizontal bar chart of the top ten countries by population for 2020, using the United Nations population dataset. Flag images from an external repository appear to the right of each bar, with the bar width encoding population magnitude. The chart renders via SVG within a React application, incorporating D3’s `scaleBand` and `scaleLinear` for axes and positioning. Data loads asynchronously using D3’s `csv` parsing, while grid lines and tick marks are generated from `xScale.ticks()`.

This line chart visualizes the median PM 2.5 concentration for each month in San Francisco, using data from Data Canvas - Sense Your City.
