World Population Area Chart

This chart displays world population over time using a filled area representation. The visualization uses a time-scaled x-axis for years and a linear y-axis for population, with the area filled in maroon to emphasize magnitude. Built with D3 v5, it leverages `d3.scaleTime`, `d3.scaleLinear`, `d3.area` with `d3.curveBasis` smoothing, and SVG rendering. Data is loaded from a CSV file via `d3.csv`, with axes styled through custom tick formatting that converts values to billions. The chart includes labeled axes and a title, with gridlines created using tick marks.

HTML Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal HTML page that displays the text “Hello HTML!” centered on a white background. The page loads a CSV file containing population data for ten countries, but the data is only logged to the browser console and not visualized. The implementation uses inline CSS for styling and JavaScript with the D3 library’s `select` and `csv` functions to fetch and parse the data file.

HTML Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal HTML page rendered entirely with vanilla web technologies. It displays the text “Hello HTML!” in a large, centered font using a CSS class for styling, with no external libraries or frameworks. The page structure is defined in `index.html` using a `div` element, while CSS handles the visual presentation and JavaScript is not used for any dynamic behavior. The project serves as a bare-bones starter template contrasting with a separate React-based counterpart.

Shapes with SVG and CSS

This example shows a static SVG scene containing a circle and a rectangle, styled with basic CSS. The HTML page embeds an SVG element with fixed dimensions, and CSS applies global styling, including removing margins and hiding overflow. The code uses raw SVG markup for shape rendering and a linked stylesheet for presentation, demonstrating how SVG elements can be structured directly in HTML without additional libraries. No JavaScript or React framework is actually utilized in this minimal illustration, despite metadata referencing React.
