Area chart 15

This area chart visualizes the total medal counts for various countries, using a blue filled area under a smooth basis curve. The chart is rendered as SVG with D3 v5, utilizing `scaleBand` for the categorical country axis and `scaleLinear` for the numeric medal count. Data is loaded from a CSV file and the axes are styled with custom tick marks and labels, while the country names are rotated 45 degrees for readability.

quality area chart

This example shows a pie chart of Spotify Top 50 song genres, with each slice labeled by its percentage of the total and accompanied by a color-coded legend. Using D3 v6, it fetches CSV data from a GitHub gist, aggregates genre counts with `d3.rollup`, and generates arcs via `d3.pie` and `d3.arc`. The SVG rendering applies a `d3.scaleOrdinal` with `d3.schemeSet3` for colors and positions percentage labels using `arc.centroid`.

Area chart15

This area chart displays the total Olympic medals won by each country, with the x-axis labeled "Country" and the y-axis labeled "Total Medals." The chart uses a smooth, curved line to connect the data points, creating a flowing area filled with a teal color. The visualization is built with D3 v5, using `d3.scaleBand` and `d3.scaleLinear` for the axes, `d3.area` with `d3.curveBasis` for the area path, and SVG rendering. Data is loaded from a CSV file provided by the author.

Area chart

This area chart displays Olympic medal totals by country, with a smooth, curved line connecting the data points over a categorical x-axis. The visualization uses D3 v5, importing functions like `area`, `curveBasis`, `scaleBand`, and `scaleLinear` to construct the SVG path. The chart is rendered with a turquoise fill and includes axis labels and a title, with data loaded from a CSV file hosted on GitHub. The y-axis is scaled to the maximum medal count, while grid lines extend across the plot area.

piechart

This visualization displays the genre distribution of Spotify’s Top 50 songs as a pie chart, with percentage labels on each slice and a color-coded legend. It loads CSV data via `d3.csv`, aggregates counts with `d3.rollup`, and renders SVG paths using `d3.pie` and `d3.arc`. The chart applies a Tableau10 color scheme from `d3.scaleOrdinal` and positions text labels at arc centroids.

Assignment2-1

A pie chart visualizes the distribution of Spotify's Top 50 songs from 2019 by genre. It fetches CSV data from a GitHub gist, uses `d3.rollup` to count songs per genre, and computes percentages for labels on each slice. The chart renders as SVG, using `d3.pie` and `d3.arc` for the sectors, a categorical color scheme, and includes a legend positioned to the right. A bold title and percentage labels are added directly on the arcs.
