Let's make a face with D3.js!

This example demonstrates fundamental DOM manipulation with D3.js by building an animated smiley face out of SVG shapes. The code uses `d3.select` to append a circle for the head, two circles for eyes, rectangles for eyebrows, and an `d3.arc()` path for the mouth. D3 transitions animate the eyebrows upward and back over four seconds. The example uses D3 v5 and relies on simple attribute setters like `.attr()` to position each element.

Shapes and Colors with SVG and CSS

This example demonstrates how SVG shapes and CSS styling can be combined to create a static visualization with varied colors, strokes, and transformations. It shows circles, rectangles, lines, and paths arranged in groups, with some shapes using inline fill attributes and others inheriting styles from CSS classes. The code uses raw SVG elements—such as `<circle>`, `<rect>`, `<line>`, and `<path>`—along with CSS rules that define stroke properties like `stroke-linejoin` and `stroke-linecap`. The visualization is rendered entirely in SVG, with groups applying translations and scaling via the `transform` attribute.

Cars Report

This example shows a simple car report generator that fetches a hardcoded JSON dataset of five vehicles, filters them by price under $2,000, and displays the results as formatted text lines. The page initially shows “Loading...” while the code uses a Promise-based `setTimeout` delay in `getCars()` to simulate an asynchronous data fetch. JavaScript modules (`import`/`export`) organize the logic, with `formatCar` handling string interpolation for year, make, model, and price, and `generateReport` chaining `filter()`, `map()`, and `join()` to build the final output into a `<pre>` element.
