Fork of Migrant Deaths Linked Views with Fast Brushing

This visualization combines a bubble map and a time-series histogram to explore migrant deaths worldwide. A brushed selection on the histogram filters the map’s circles, which scale by the total dead and missing per location. Built with React and D3 v5, it uses `d3.geoNaturalEarth1` for the map projection, `d3.scaleSqrt` for bubble sizes, `d3.brushX` for interactive filtering, and `d3.bin` to aggregate monthly totals. Data comes from the Missing Migrants Project, with country boundaries from World Atlas TopoJSON.

This example uses the Vega-Lite API to create an interactive scatter plot of the Auto MPG dataset from the UCI Machine Learning Repository. The visualization encodes horsepower and miles per gallon on the x- and y-axes, while car origin and model year drive color encoding and weight determines point size. Tooltips reveal car names on hover. Built with d3.csv for data loading, the code registers Vega-Lite with a tooltip handler and renders an SVG chart that fits the full window dimensions.
