fruit bowl

A fruit bowl visualization uses D3 v5 and React to display an animated collection of circles representing apples and lemons in an SVG. The data array changes over time as fruits are eaten, replaced, or removed, triggering smooth 1000ms transitions via `transition()` and `duration()`. A `scaleOrdinal` maps fruit types to colors (red for apples, green for lemons) and radii (50 for apples, 30 for lemons). The `enter`, `merge`, and `exit` selections manage circle updates, with exiting fruits shrinking to zero radius before removal.

Face With D3

A yellow smiley face is rendered in SVG, with two eyes, animated eyebrows, and a mouth formed by a semicircular arc. The face is centered within a 960 by 500 SVG canvas, with all facial features positioned and styled using D3 selections. The eyebrows use chained D3 transitions to move up and down over two-second intervals, creating a blinking or winking effect. The code imports `select` and `arc` from D3 v5, demonstrating the use of D3's shape generator for the mouth path.

SVG

This example demonstrates basic geometric shapes rendered as SVG elements, including two circles, two rectangles, a line, and a polyline path. The shapes are grouped with a light blue fill and black stroke, translated 200 pixels down the y-axis, while the line and path use a thicker stroke without fill. The code uses raw SVG markup within an HTML page, styled by an external CSS file that removes margins and hides overflow. The rendering approach relies on SVG's native coordinate system and transform attribute.

HTML Starter

This example demonstrates a simple report generator that fetches car data and displays a filtered list. It uses a `Promise` with `setTimeout` to simulate an asynchronous data request, then applies `filter` and `map` to show cars under a price threshold, formatting each entry with the `formatCar` function. The output is rendered as text into an HTML `<pre>` element via `textContent`. The visualization is minimal, focusing on data transformation logic rather than visual charts, using plain JavaScript with no external libraries.
