Fork of Reusable Scatter plot Activity 8

This animated scatter plot cycles through four Iris flower measurements (petal width, sepal width, petal length, and sepal length) on the x-axis against sepal length on the y-axis, using color-coded circles to distinguish species (setosa, versicolor, virginica). Built with D3.js (v6.7.0), it uses `scaleLinear`, `axisLeft`, `axisBottom`, and a reusable `scatterPlot` module to render the SVG visualization. The data is loaded from a GitHub-hosted Iris dataset via `d3.csv`, and a `setInterval` timer drives the rotation of variables, updating both the plot and axis labels dynamically.

This example demonstrates a minimal D3.js visualization displaying the text “Hello VizHub!” in large, centered type. It illustrates the basic setup for a VizHub project, including loading D3 via a CDN and using local ES6 modules. The code imports the `select` function from `d3` to target the `#message` div and applies the text from a separate `myMessage.js` module. A stylesheet controls the typography and alignment, with the page structure defined in `index.html`.

This example demonstrates how to build a minimal D3-based web page using VizHub, showing a simple text message rendered in the browser. It loads D3 v5 from UNPKG and uses the `select` function from `"d3"` to set the text content of an HTML div. The code also imports a local ES6 module via `import { message } from './myMessage'` and includes a regular expression and CSS styling, exemplifying basic module integration and DOM manipulation without any complex data or visualization.

This example demonstrates the fundamental workflow of a VizHub project, showing how to combine D3.js with local ES6 modules to manipulate the DOM. It loads D3 v5 from UNPKG and uses the `select` function from the `d3` namespace to set the text content of an HTML element. A separate local module named `myMessage.js` exports a string, which is imported and displayed in the page. The visualization is purely text-based, with styling applied through CSS to center the message at a large font size.

Activity 7

This example demonstrates a minimal D3.js setup that renders a static text message into a web page. It shows how to load D3 from a CDN, import specific functions like `select` from the library, and structure code with local ES6 modules. The page uses a simple HTML div with an id, styled via CSS, and displays the exported message string from a separate JavaScript file. The visualization highlights basic module imports and DOM manipulation without any data binding or complex rendering.
