Fork of Loading and Parsing CSV Data

This example demonstrates the process of loading and parsing CSV data from a remote URL using the Fetch API within a React application. It retrieves a dataset of CSS Named Colors from a GitHub gist, showcasing how asynchronous JavaScript handles external data. The code uses `fetch` with `async` and `await` syntax, though the parsing functionality is not yet implemented, as the `fetchText` function only returns raw text. D3 v5 is loaded via CDN, but no D3-specific data parsing methods like `d3.csv` are currently applied.

Fork of Loading and Parsing CSV Data

This visualization displays metadata about a CSV file containing CSS named colors, showing the file size, row count, and column count in large text. It loads and parses the data using d3.csv, which handles the asynchronous fetch and parsing in one step. The code also includes commented-out alternatives using fetch, async/await, and d3.csvParse to achieve the same result, with brief commentary on the "pyramid of doom" pattern.

Fork of Let's Make a Face Part I

This example displays a static yellow smiley face made of three SVG circles: a large head and two smaller eyes, positioned on a 960×500 canvas. The React framework renders a "Hello World" heading alongside the hardcoded SVG markup, which is drawn directly in the HTML using circle elements with explicit cx, cy, and r attributes. The visualization uses React 16.7 and SVG, with black strokes and a yellow fill, while the accompanying README notes it is halfway toward a more complete face.

Fork of Hello HTML

A single yellow circle with a thick black outline sits centered on a plain white HTML page, using an SVG `<circle>` element. The example demonstrates a minimal static rendering approach, with no interactive behavior or data binding. It is built with basic HTML, CSS, and inline SVG properties, setting `cx`, `cy`, `r`, `fill`, and `stroke` directly. The page dimensions are fixed at 960 by 500 pixels, and the body margin is removed to maximize the visual impact of the lone shape.
