Color Fetcher
This example displays a minimal React application that fetches a CSV file of CSS named colors from a GitHub gist using d3.csv, then renders a concise summary of the downloaded data. The App component uses React hooks—useState and useEffect—to manage the asynchronous data loading and trigger the fetch once on mount. Once the data arrives, the constructMessage function computes the file size in kilobytes, counts the rows, and logs the column names before displaying this text on the page. The visualization is purely textual, emphasizing data retrieval and metadata over graphical representation.
