Smiley Face Part 1

This example shows a single yellow circle with a black outline centered on an SVG canvas, serving as the first step toward building a smiley face visualization. The circle is positioned at coordinates (480, 250) with a radius of 245, filling most of the 960×500 viewport. The visualization uses React 16.9 and ReactDOM 17.0.2 to render the SVG element programmatically, with the circle’s attributes defined directly in the JSX code. No interactive behavior or additional facial features are yet implemented.

Pay Gap Between Men and Women

This dumbbell chart displays the pay gap between men and women across twelve professional categories, plotting each gender’s average salary as paired circles connected by horizontal lines. The visualization uses D3 v6 with SVG rendering, employing `scaleLinear` for the salary axis, `scalePoint` for categorical positioning, and `csv` to load the data. The chart highlights the salary disparity, with the exception of Health Technicians, which is filtered out before rendering.

Fork of HTML Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal HTML page that displays the text “Hello HTML” in large, centered type, with the browser’s developer tools console logging “Hello JavaScript!”. The page uses raw HTML and CSS for styling, specifically the `text-align` and `font-size` properties on the `body` element, and a plain JavaScript `console.log` call. No external libraries or data sources are involved, and the rendering is purely static.
