d3

This example demonstrates masked striped patterns overlaid on top of each other. It creates 100 horizontal rectangles and 100 vertical rectangles, each with a height or width of 10 pixels, spaced 20 pixels apart. The rectangles are masked using SVG masks with circular cutouts, creating a crosshatch effect with a circular reveal. The visualization uses D3 v6 with `select`, `selectAll`, and `data` joins to bind the mark arrays to the SVG elements, rendering the output as SVG in a React-styled HTML page.

Fork of Fork of Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction Vertical 4

This example creates a generative geometric composition inspired by Sol LeWitt, displayed as horizontal and vertical stripes across the screen. Two SVG masks—one with a white circle on black, another with a black circle on white—reveal alternating sets of striped rectangles, producing a crosshatch pattern where the stripes overlap. The visualization uses vanilla JavaScript with the DOM API to construct SVG elements dynamically, setting the width and height based on the browser window. It shows how masking and nested loops can generate a structured, Op-Art-like visual effect without external libraries.

Fork of Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction Vertical 3

This visualization generates a grid of horizontal and vertical rectangles on an SVG canvas. A circular mask, created with SVG mask elements, reveals a portion of the horizontal stripes while the vertical bars remain fully visible. The piece uses the Document Object Model (DOM) API to create and append SVG elements, with dimensions based on the browser window size. The composition is a generative reproduction inspired by Sol LeWitt’s wall drawings.

Fork of Sol Lewitt Reproduction Vertical 2

This visualization reproduces a Sol LeWitt-inspired drawing using vertical black bars, with a circular mask that creates a clear central window against a white background. The code generates 100 evenly spaced rectangles, each 10 pixels tall, and applies a mask containing a 200-pixel-radius circle. The piece uses raw SVG elements created via the Document Object Model API, setting the mask’s rect to white and circle to black to control visibility. It dynamically sizes to the browser window, adapting the composition to the full viewport.

Sol Lewitt Reproduction Vertical

This example reproduces a Sol LeWitt-style drawing as a vertical sequence of horizontal stripes, clipped by a circular mask centered on the screen. It shows how generative geometry can create a minimalist composition directly in the browser. The code uses raw SVG APIs via `document.createElementNS` and `setAttribute` to construct 100 rectangles, each 10 pixels tall, spanning the full viewport width. A `mask` element with a white circle limits visibility, while the page fills the entire window with no margins or scrolling. The rendering approach is entirely procedural, using only vanilla JavaScript and SVG without external libraries.

Sol Lewitt

This example renders a blank SVG canvas with a fixed 960x960 pixel dimension using plain JavaScript and the SVG DOM API. It creates a new SVG element via `document.createElement('svg')`, sets its width and height attributes, and appends it to the document body. The code demonstrates basic DOM manipulation and SVG setup within a React framework context, though no visual output or data binding is present beyond the empty canvas.

JavaScript Basics

This example illustrates fundamental JavaScript programming concepts through a blank SVG canvas. The page embeds commented-out code covering variables, objects, functions, and loops, demonstrating basic syntax before execution. Using an HTML document with inline JavaScript, it sets up an SVG element measuring 960 by 500 pixels. The visualization serves as an educational template for learning language basics, with all example code commented out, preparing developers to uncomment and run statements incrementally. It relies on vanilla JavaScript and inline SVG rendering rather than external libraries, highlighting core web development principles.

Pseudo Horizontal Bar Chart

This example presents a pseudo horizontal bar chart, featuring a single green bar rendered over a white background with the letter "A" as its label. The visualization uses plain SVG elements, specifically a `<rect>` for the bar and a `<text>` element for the label, with styling applied through CSS classes and inline attributes. The code defines the SVG canvas dimensions, positioning the bar at a fixed x and y coordinate with explicit width and height values. This approach demonstrates a minimalist, static chart composition using React and SVG, with typography customized through Google Fonts.

SVG Fundamentals

This example demonstrates the fundamental building blocks of Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG) by rendering a minimal set of primitive shapes on a 600 by 700 canvas. A red circle, a navy line, and a thick black path with straight segments are positioned using absolute coordinates. The code defines each element directly within an SVG container in the HTML markup, with styling applied through presentation attributes like fill and stroke. This serves as a basic template for constructing more complex vector-based data visualizations.
