Smoothed Daily Coronavirus Deaths by Country
A multi-line chart displays smoothed daily coronavirus deaths for each country over time, sourced from the Johns Hopkins COVID-19 dataset. The chart uses a logarithmic Y-axis to accommodate wide variations in death counts, with a Voronoi overlay enabling interactive hover to highlight a selected country’s line and show a tooltip with cumulative deaths and dates. The visualization is built with React, D3 v5 for scales and axes, and d3-delaunay for the Voronoi overlay. Daily values are smoothed via repeated averaging, and SVG renders the paths and labels.
