Fork of Hello HTML

This example demonstrates a nearly empty HTML page that loads a single script from the D3.js library, using `d3.select` to append an element to the document. It initializes a minimal SVG canvas without any data or interaction, serving as a starting point for further visualization development. The page relies on the D3 v3 API, imported via a remote source, and renders nothing beyond the default blank body. The author’s fork of the original “Hello HTML” example highlights the core structure of a D3-based project.

Fork of Hello HTML

This example displays a simple static SVG smiley face—a yellow circle with two black eyes—centered on a 960-by-500 canvas. It demonstrates basic React integration by using React 18 and ReactDOM to render a component into a root element, while the visual itself is drawn directly with SVG circle elements. The code mixes HTML markup, SVG attributes, and a minimal React script, with all styling handled by inline attributes and a small CSS rule. It does not show any interactive behavior or data-driven updates, only a fixed illustration.
