Fork of Making a Bar Chart

This chart displays the cumulative running total of population for the top 10 most populous countries from 1884 to 2010, based on 2018 estimates from the United Nations World Population Prospects 2017. It uses d3.scaleLinear and d3.scaleBand to map years and running totals to SVG rectangles, with d3.axisLeft and d3.axisBottom for the axes. Data is loaded via d3.csv and rendered as an SVG bar chart.

Untitled

This example shows the cumulative running total of a dataset from 1884 to 2010, with values increasing from 1 to over 160,000. The visualization renders as a solid red rectangular SVG area, though the code does not yet plot the data points. It uses D3 v6.5.0 to select the SVG element and apply a background color via inline styling. The data is loaded from a CSV file containing two columns: year and running_total. The page includes a tutorial video and basic setup for a homework assignment.

D3 Test

This example displays the text “Hello D3 version 6” centered on a plain white page using 13em font size. It demonstrates the simplest possible D3 setup: the HTML page loads d3.v6 from a CDN, then calls d3.select('body').text() to inject the message. The source code includes a separate bundle.js and a q3.csv file, though no data loading or visualization is implemented.
