Project

This pie chart shows the distribution of job applications across seven countries, displaying aggregated counts in thousands within each slice and a legend for country identification. The visualization is built with D3.js, using `d3-shape`'s pie layout for arc generation and `d3-scale`'s ordinal color scale with the category-10 palette. Data is loaded from a CSV file via `d3-fetch`, aggregated by country, and rendered as an SVG with labels positioned using the arc centroid method.

Assignment 2

This pie chart visualizes the distribution of Iris species from a CSV dataset fetched via `d3-fetch`. The chart uses `d3.arc`, `d3.pie`, and a `scaleOrdinal` color scale to render slices, with text labels and a legend identifying each category. Data is processed by counting species occurrences, and the SVG is rendered with a bold title and custom styling from CSS.

Assignment 2 part2

This area chart visualizes population trends for ten countries over time, highlighting changes in population size across several decades. The chart is rendered as an SVG using the D3.js library, with data processed from a CSV file via the `csv()` API. It uses D3's stacking and area functions to create layered regions, with a legend and axes labeled "Years" and "Population (millions)" to guide interpretation. The chart employs `d3.scaleTime` for the x-axis and a linear scale for the y-axis, with gridlines for readability.

Activity 6

This interactive scatter plot visualizes the Iris dataset, cycling through different x-axis variables every few seconds to show relationships between sepal and petal measurements. Each species—setosa, versicolor, and virginica—appears as a distinct color (skyblue, lightgreen, orange) with a legend and axis labels updated dynamically. Built with D3 v6, it uses `scaleLinear`, `extent`, `axisLeft`, `axisBottom`, and `setInterval` to re-render the SVG animation, with data loaded via the `csv` function from a GitHub-hosted CSV file.
