Let's make a face with D3.js

This example uses D3.js v5 to build an interactive face entirely from SVG elements, with a focus on playful shape composition. The code reads a CSV file of food items and their deliciousness ratings, though the main visualization is a blank canvas ready for facial features. It loads D3 from a CDN and includes a minimal HTML page with a styled SVG container. The implementation relies on D3 selections such as `d3.selectAll("p")` to demonstrate basic DOM manipulation, while the accompanying React starter suggests potential integration with modern frameworks.

React Starter

This example shows how to integrate a simple data-driven message into a React application using a JSON array of car objects. It reads a vehicle’s make from the first entry of the parsed data and displays it as large text on a blank web page. The code uses the native `JSON.parse` method on a string literal imported from a cars module, then directly manipulates the DOM by setting the `textContent` property of an HTML pre element via `document.getElementById`. The starter relies on React’s bundling and rendering infrastructure without additional visualization libraries.
