Fork of Gantt Chart of USSR Elites
This fork of a Gantt chart displays the tenure of Soviet elites from the Brezhnev to Gorbachev eras, using horizontal bars to encode the start and end dates of each individual’s service. The chart uses a custom dataset embedded in the JavaScript, which includes biographical details like birth, death, role, and nationality. Rendered as an SVG via D3 v5, the visualization employs `d3.selectAll` and `.append` to build the chart, with a hover tooltip (`#tag`) that reveals more information about each leader. A light gray grid with `shape-rendering: crispEdges` provides temporal reference lines.
