This example sets out to render a map of Australian islands from a TopoJSON file, though the visualization itself is not yet implemented. The code establishes an SVG canvas with defined margins and dimensions, then loads the AustraliaMap.topojson data using d3.queue and d3.json. A placeholder function logs the loaded data to the console, but no geographic shapes or paths are drawn. The setup uses d3.v3 and is built within a React framework, with the map container selected via D3.

Sized Points on a Map

This visualization displays a world map with circles sized proportionally to city populations, using data from Simplemaps and country boundaries from World Atlas TopoJSON. The map is rendered with SVG and React, employing d3.geoNaturalEarth1 and d3.geoPath for geographic projections, while a d3.scaleSqrt maps population values to circle radii.
