Let's make a map with D3.js

This example displays a world map using a natural Earth projection, with countries rendered as light green SVG paths and oceans shown as a blue sphere. The code loads geographic data from the world-atlas TopoJSON file, converts it to GeoJSON using the topojson `feature` function, and draws it with `d3.geoPath` and `d3.geoNaturalEarth1` from D3 v5. A single SVG element sized 960 by 500 hosts the visualization.

Making a Bar Chart

This bar chart displays the population of the top 10 most populous countries, with each bar’s length proportional to the population value. The visualization uses D3 v5’s `scaleLinear` for the x-axis, `scaleBand` for the y-axis, and `axisLeft`/`axisBottom` for tick marks. Data is loaded from a CSV file via `d3.csv` and rendered as SVG rectangles styled with a steelblue fill.

Let's make a face with D3.js

A yellow circle with a black outline forms a face, complete with two eyes, animated eyebrows, and a curved mouth drawn using the D3.js `arc` function. The example demonstrates SVG rendering within a React framework, using D3 v5 to construct and position shapes. Eyebrows animate vertically via chained `transition` calls, shifting down and back, while the face is centered using SVG group transforms based on the viewport dimensions.

Shapes with SVG and CSS

This example showcases basic SVG shapes—circles, rectangles, lines, and paths—arranged in a grid and styled with both inline attributes and an external CSS stylesheet. The SVG is rendered directly in HTML, with a `scale` transform applied to the root group and a `translate` transform shifting a row of shapes. CSS classes like `.lines` set stroke properties, while inline `fill` and `stroke` attributes define colors, demonstrating the interplay between SVG presentation attributes and CSS styling within a React-free, bare-HTML page.
