Cars Report

The visualization shows a text-based report of used cars filtered by price, listing each vehicle as a line with year, make, model, and price. It demonstrates modular JavaScript organization: the cars dataset is parsed from an embedded JSON string in `cars.js`, while `formatCars.js` and `generateReport.js` handle per-car formatting and filtering, respectively. The main `index.js` calls `generateReport(cars, 3000)` to select cars under $3,000 and writes the result into a `<pre>` element using the DOM API. The example relies on native ES modules, destructuring, and array methods like `filter` and `map`.

cars new try

This example demonstrates a minimal D3 version 6 setup by displaying a simple text message in an HTML page. It imports a JavaScript object parsed from a JSON string defined in a separate module, though the visible output shows only the static string "test" rendered in a large preformatted element. The code uses the native `JSON.parse` method and ES6 module imports via `export` and `import`, along with basic DOM manipulation through `document.getElementById().textContent`. No data visualization is performed; the focus is on establishing a project structure with bundled dependencies.

Loading and Parsing CSV Data

This example demonstrates the initial step of fetching a remote CSV file, specifically a dataset of CSS named colors hosted as a GitHub Gist. The page uses JavaScript’s built-in `fetch` API to request the raw text file and logs the resulting `Promise` object to the browser console. The code does not yet parse or visualize the returned data; it only establishes the network call and displays the asynchronous response object, serving as a minimal template for loading external tabular data for later charting.

Fork of Smiley Face Part 4

This example renders a stylized smiley face using React components and D3.js v7’s `arc` generator for the mouth and eyebrows. The face is composed of SVG shapes—a yellow background circle, elliptical eyes with yellow irises, a mouth arc, and curved eyebrow arcs—positioned via a `FaceContainer` group. The code passes explicit props for dimensions, offsets, and radii to control facial features. It demonstrates a modular React component structure where each facial element is its own file, with D3 arcs used only for the curved parts.

Smiley Face Part 1

A smiling face rendered as an SVG diagram built with React and D3's `arc` generator. It shows a yellow circle for the head, two elliptical eyes with yellow irises, an arc-based mouth, and two eyebrow arcs positioned above each eye. The code uses `d3.arc` to define the mouth and eyebrow paths, with explicit transforms to place the elements. React composes the SVG elements, while D3 v7 generates the arc path data based on specified radius and angle values.
