Fork of Customizing Axes

This bar chart displays the population of the top 10 most populous countries, using 2018 estimates from the United Nations World Population Prospects. The chart employs D3's `scaleLinear` for the x-axis, `scaleBand` for the y-axis, and customizes the axes with `axisBottom` and `axisLeft`. Tick labels are formatted using `format`, converting values to billions with a custom replacement. Data is loaded from a CSV file, and the SVG rendering includes styled tick lines, axis labels, and a title.

Fork of HTML Starter

This example displays the text “Hello HTML” in large, centered type on a plain white page. It fetches a CSV file containing CSS named colors from a GitHub gist using the Fetch API, then logs the raw text response to the browser console. The page demonstrates basic HTML structure with inline CSS styling and asynchronous JavaScript for data retrieval, though no visualization is rendered. The code uses the global `fetch` function and `response.text()` to handle the remote data.

Fork of Smiley Face Part VI

A grid of randomly generated smiley faces fills the screen, each with unique stroke widths, eye positions, and mouth arcs. The example shows how React components compose SVG elements while leveraging D3’s `arc` generator to draw the mouth path. Faces are rendered using the `FaceContainer`, `BackgroundCircle`, `Eyes`, and `Mouth` components, with `d3.range` creating the 18 instances. D3 v5 and React manage the SVG output, demonstrating a modular, functional approach to data-driven visualization without external data sources.
