This example displays a simple SVG scene with a large red circle and a white rectangle positioned over a dark background, styled with the Ubuntu font. The page loads CSV data containing widget and reporting metrics, though the visualization does not currently render any of that data. Built with D3 v5, the code uses `select`, `selectAll`, `style`, `attr`, and `csv` imports to manipulate the SVG elements. The static composition serves as a baseline template for future chart development.

Customizing Axes

This visualization displays a bar chart of the top 10 most populous countries, using 2018 estimates from the United Nations World Population Prospects. The chart customizes D3 axes by removing default domain lines, adding custom tick formatting that converts values from giga to billions, and extending tick lines across the chart. The code uses d3.select, d3.csv, d3.scaleLinear, d3.scaleBand, d3.axisLeft, d3.axisBottom, and d3.format to construct the SVG visualization, styling axis labels, titles, and ticks via CSS.
