Bar Chart Practice

This bar chart visualizes Japanese historical eras, plotting each era’s name on the vertical axis against its span of years on the horizontal axis using an SVG rendering. It uses D3 v5 APIs including `scaleLinear`, `scaleBand`, `axisLeft`, and `axisBottom`, with data hard-coded as an array of era objects. The chart includes a title, axis label, and gridlines, with bars colored steelblue via CSS.

Fork of D3 Starter

This example demonstrates a minimal D3 starter template that renders the text “Hello D3 version 6” into the page body using a plain-text selection. The code imports the `select` function from the D3 library, targets the `body` element, and sets its textual content. The visualization relies on D3 v6, loaded via the CDN in `index.html`, and is bundled into `bundle.js` for execution. It is a straightforward, non-graphical illustration of D3’s DOM manipulation capabilities rather than a chart or data-driven visualization.
