This example shows a static, hand-coded SVG smiley face composed of a yellow circle with concentric black circles for eyes and a mouth. It demonstrates a minimal starting point for D3 version 6, as described in the accompanying README. The rendered SVG is drawn directly in the HTML markup rather than being generated programmatically. The JavaScript file imports the `select` function from `d3` and writes the text "Hello D3 version 7" to the page body, illustrating a basic D3 API call.
