Brushing Up on Missing Migrants

This interactive visualization combines a world map and a date histogram to explore global migrant deaths and disappearances. The map uses a Natural Earth projection with graticules and sized circles to depict the total number of dead and missing migrants by location. A linked brushing interface on the time-series histogram filters the map’s displayed points, updating in real time. Built with React and D3 v5, the visualization leverages `d3.geoPath`, `d3.scaleSqrt`, and `d3.brushX` to synchronize the views, drawing from the Missing Migrants Global Figures dataset.
