Untitled

This example visualizes the distribution of probability estimates from eight verbal uncertainty phrases (such as “Almost Certainly” and “Almost No Chance”) using kernel density estimation. Each smoothed density curve is colored with a viridis scale based on the group mean, revealing differences in central tendency and spread across categories. The visualization uses D3 v4 to load CSV data from GitHub, compute the means, and render the densities as SVG paths. The kernel density estimator applies an Epanechnikov kernel, while axes, gridlines, and labels are drawn with `d3.axisBottom`, `d3.axisLeft`, and the `d3.scaleSequential` with `d3.interpolateViridis`.

3 dec lesson

This example presents a minimal page titled “Spatial data – 3 dec 2021,” introducing spatial data concepts through a single heading and a blue introductory paragraph. It uses D3 v7’s `d3.select` to append text to the page, styled with Google Fonts “Roboto Slab” and “Roboto” via CSS. The code demonstrates basic DOM manipulation with D3 and a static HTML structure, serving as a starting point for spatial data visualization without any maps or interactive elements.

Fork of Let's Make a Face Part I

This example shows a simple smiley face constructed from nested SVG shapes, with a yellow circular head, two eyes, and a curved mouth arc, all centered on a 960×500 canvas. The face is built using React to render SVG elements, while D3’s `arc` generator creates the mouth path from angular start and end positions. Position and size values are defined as constants and applied via coordinate transforms. The code demonstrates a minimal integration of React and D3 for static geometric visualization.

D3 animations

This example demonstrates a minimal D3 version 7 setup that renders the text "Hello D3 version 7" directly onto the page body. It loads the full D3 library from a CDN and uses the `select` API to target the body element. The example serves as a starting point for exploring D3’s animation capabilities, showing how to initialize the library and perform a basic DOM selection. The code does not include any animation logic beyond the static text insertion.

Fork of Hello HTML

This example presents the simplest possible HTML page, containing an empty `<body>` element and no JavaScript or external libraries. It serves as a bare-bones starting point for web-based visualization experiments, showing only a blank document with a title. The page relies entirely on native HTML structure, with no data sources or rendering techniques involved. It forks the original "Hello HTML" template to provide a minimal foundation for further development in D3 or other visualization tools.
