Gun Deaths in Florida

This example re-creates the Florida Gun Deaths chart, showing the number of firearm murders per year from 1989 to 2017. A red area chart and a black line trace the data, with axis labels marking each decade. The visualization uses D3 v5 to load CSV data, scale the axes, and draw the SVG area and line paths. It also includes an annotation noting when Florida’s “Stand Your Ground” law was enacted. Data comes from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
