Fork of Assignment-2

This interactive SVG pie chart visualizes the distribution of fish species from a CSV file fetched from a GitHub gist. D3 groups the data by species to calculate counts, then uses `d3.pie` and `d3.arc` to render the chart with tooltips on hover. A legend displays species names and counts, color-coded via `d3.scaleOrdinal`.

Fork of Hello VizHub

A stacked area chart shows the average body length of three fish species—Tuna, Trout, and Salmon—across grouped data indices, with each species rendered as a colored region using d3.stack and d3.area. The chart loads a CSV dataset via d3.csv, bins entries into groups of ten, and computes mean body lengths per species. SVG paths fill the areas with an ordinal color scale, while axes, labels, and a legend clarify the visualization. Interactive tooltips appear on mouseover, displaying the species and its average length.

Assignment2(area chart)

This area chart visualizes the relationship between fish body length and fin length, plotting fin length as a filled area above the x-axis. The data comes from a CSV file loaded via `d3.csv`, with both measurements parsed as numeric values. Using d3.v7, the chart employs `d3.area()` to generate the semi-transparent steelblue area, `d3.scaleLinear` for the x and y axes, and `d3.axisBottom` and `d3.axisLeft` for tick marks. The SVG rendering includes a title and axis labels, with data sorted by body length before the path is drawn.

Assignment-2

This pie chart visualizes the distribution of fish species from a CSV dataset loaded via `d3.csv`. It uses `d3.nest()` to count occurrences per species, then `d3.pie()` and `d3.arc()` to generate the chart geometry, with `d3.scaleOrdinal` and `d3.schemeCategory10` for color encoding. The SVG rendering includes an interactive legend, and the code demonstrates a reusable pattern for pie charts with D3 v6.
