This example displays a hierarchical tree of musical instruments, organizing categories like String, Percussion, and Wind into a branching diagram. It uses the D3.js library (d3.v7) with d3.stratify to convert flat parent–child data into a hierarchy, then applies the d3.tree layout to position nodes. Links are drawn as vertical paths using d3.linkVertical, while nodes are rendered as SVG shapes—triangles, rectangles, diamonds, and circles—that vary by depth, with each node labeled and colored distinctly.
